Quilted Ballet

This is a quilted ballet dress which I made for my A Level Textiles Exam, it is based on art influencing fashion. I looked at the artist Degas and his paintings and pictures of the ballet and I also looked at Mackintosh's watercolours of flowers and plants. for the skirt I quilted satin after screen printing a light wash of flowers and plants that I had drawn, I then free stitched over this to make the colours pop and give more texture to the skirt. For the bodice I stitched some net on and then free stitched some flowers and leaves onto it to continue the theme. I used eyelets and ribbon to lace up the back of the bodice and also made a net tutu to go under the skirt to give it more volume.

  3. Hi, photography really isn't my main thing sorry, I just take photos of things that are inspiring and exciting but I'm not sure that that really helps much! Perhaps looking at some photography blogs would be more useful than mine, sorry again! Good luck :)
